SUSPET 4 2014 Entrance Examination (Supplementary)

Applications are invited from eligibility candidates for admission to above Ph.D programme

Online application for Ph.D Course (Journalism and Mass Communication, Law, Library and Information Science, Social Work, Urdu, Microbiology, Pharmacy

The medium of the SUS‐PET‐2014 Entrance Examination (Supplementary) will be in English except Languages

Conditions of Eligibility

Minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST category) or with equivalent grade points at Post Graduate degree examination or its equivalent

Fees Structures

For open category candidate: Rs.1000/‐

For reserve category candidate: Rs.700/‐

For exempted candidate: Rs.200/‐

90% & 10% Quota

a) 90% Seats are reserved for those who have completed their Graduation/Post graduation from Solapur University, Solapur or teaching/non teaching staff working in the Solapur University/affiliated colleges/institutions or person who has completed his UG/PG before 01st Aug 2004 from Shivaji University of affiliated colleges/PG centre in Solapur University Jurisdiction

b) 10% seats shall be reserved for other University candidates

Nature & Medium of Question Paper

Medium of question paper for Ph.D entrance exam is in English except paper‐2 for languages

There will be 50 multiple choice objective questions for each paper and all questions will carry equal mark

There will be no negative marks for wrong answer

Entrance Exam Syllabus

Syllabus for entrance test shall be equivalent to the NET/SET/GATE/Postgraduate level of the concerned subject

In the entrance test, the candidate’s knowledge about the subject and general aptitude shall be tested entrance test, based on multiple choice types, shall be of 100 marks

Out of this, 50 marks shall be for concerned subject knowledge and 50 marks for general aptitude

Admission shall be only on the basis of performance in entrance test


Candidates belonging to reserved categories, as notified by the govt. of Maharashtra and also belonging to specific reserved category from Maharashtra State will alone be considered for reserved posts

The candidate applying for the post of reserved categories should submit caste certificate/validity certificate issued by competent authority

The admission of selected candidate on respective reserved category shall be made only after the receipt of caste validity certificate in the light of Govt. of Maharashtra

Online Application Steps

i) Conditions of Eligibility; the candidates must have Master’s Degree from any UGC recognized institution; ii) Read the Advt. & Ph.D rules and regulation on the website carefully; iii) Check the eligibility of course given in advertisement for which you are applying; iv) While filling online application, please keep on hand all necessary documents; you will require scanned images of your latest passport size photograph, signature, mark sheets of graduations and post graduation to be uploaded while filling the online application form; v) Click on new registration link to register online application; vi) Enter correct email id and mobile number as you will receive the password message on provided mobile number; vii) Email ID is your username; viii) Login with the login Id and password to complete remaining application form; ix) Read the instructions carefully; x) Carefully fill the application form; xi) Select the mode of payment as per your choice; a) Challan; b) demand Draft; b) cast at university; xii) If you select Challan; Print Challan link will display; central bank challan copy will be displayed on the screen click on print to print the copy of challan which will be used to make payment in the central bank; central bank will accept application fee and give acknowledgement on student copy of the challan; xiii) If you select Demand Draft; Demand Draft should drawn In Favour of “Finance & Account Officer, Solapur University, Solapur” payable at Solapur

Attested copies of following documents shall be attached with the printed application form

1) Graduate & post graduate mark list; 2) SET/NET/GATE/UGC‐CSIR/JRF/M.Phil mark list; 3) Marriage certificate/Gazette copy (in case of change in name); 4) Validity certificate/Caste certificate issued by competent authority from Maharashtra supporting their claim (except for Open category); 5) Medical certificate given by competent authority in prescribed format in case of Blind/Visually or Physically Handicapped candidates; 6) Non‐creamy layer certificate; 7) Women reservation certificate
