RGNIYD Tamil Nadu announces admission to Youth-led Development Programme (YDP) 2014 for the fulfillment of the priorities of the National Youth Policy 2014 to create appropriate platform for engagement of youth in development and nation building process

The Youth-led Development Programme (YDP) seeks to offer various programmes for the youth in alignment with the objectives and priority areas of the NYP 2014 as the Policy calls for appropriate interventions for improving productivity of the youth through programmes targeted towards education, skilling, entrepreneurship development and health care

RGNIYD intends to collaborate with Government / Aided / Self-financing Arts, Science & Commerce colleges across the country, preferably, in tier 2 and tier 3 cities

During the first phase, programmes exclusively for the student youth belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled tribes and north-eastern region will be offered for the financial year 2014-15


To enhance the reach of the Institute among the youth in different parts of the country

Taking the message of youth development across the Nation

Development of youth through outreach programmes in higher educational institutions

Enhancement of skills and values in youth

Linking youth development programmes with the requirements of the National Youth Policy 2014

Programme Duration: One to three days not less than 6 hours / day with scope for active participation

Participants for the Programme: The programmes are to be conducted for the youth belonging to any one category exclusively viz., Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes or North-East (for selection criteria, refer the guidelines available on RGNIYD’s website)

Number of Participants: The minimum number of participant shall be 100 student youth belonging either to scheduled caste, scheduled tribes or north-east for type 1 & 2 programmes while 300 for type 3 programmes (Type-3 programme presently not offered)

The students belonging to SC/ST or north-east from neighbourhood colleges are also to be included to the maximum extent possible

Eligibility of Instructions: Government/Aided/Self-financing Arts, Science & Commerce Colleges recognized by the UGC (under 2(f) & 12(B) and NAAC Accredited Institutions
