B.Ed. Program Details

  • Intake Capacity: 50 (Fifty)
  • Duration: 02 years (two years)

Subject Wise distribution of seats:

  1. B.A. B.Ed.: 25 Seats (Arts)
  2. Science: 25 Seats (Physical Science, Biological Science)
  • Syllabus for the two-year B.Ed. prescribed by the Directorate of TE & SCERT, Odisha will be followed

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates fulfill all the eligibility condition given
  • The candidate must be an Arts/Science Graduate. General candidates should have at 50% marks in aggregate in the Bachelor’s Degree examination or in the Master’s Degree in concerned Science/Social Science/Humanity Subject SC/ST/SEBC and PwD candidates should have 45% of marks in aggregate in the Bachelor’s Degree examination or in the Master’s Degree in the concerned subject
  • The candidate should have passed Graduation with at least two school subjects of minimum 200 marks each
  • Candidates having Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Technology (B.Tech) with specialization in Science and Mathematics (as per AICTE syllabus) with 55 % marks in aggregate for General candidates and 50 % marks in aggregate for SC, ST, SEBC and PH candidates
  • The Science graduate candidates should have passed with two school subjects (with not less than 200 marks each) out of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Computer Science and Geography.

Note:

  • The candidates claiming reservation for PCM subject must have studied all the concerned subject i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of Minimum 200 mark each.
  • For the Arts Graduate candidate, one of the subject shall be considered out of English, Odia, Hindi and Sanskrit and another subject shall be considered from the subject studied out of History, Geography, Economics, Indian Economy, Political Science, Landmarks in Indian History, Indian Geography, Indian Polity, Mathematics (Each subject of the above mentioned list should have been studied at the Graduation level with not less than of 200 marks)
  • She/he must have passed Odia as MIL up to HSC level or any such equivalent or higher exam or have passed Odia as a subject in specific exam conducted by BSE, Odisha of HSC standard or should have passed HSC Exam of BSE, Odisha in Odia medium with MIL other than Odia
  • Such candidates who have passed HSC Exam of BSE, Odisha without Odia as MIL should produce a certificate to the effect from the Headmaster of the concerned school that he/she has passed HSC Examination in Odia medium

 

Age Limit

  • For all Women Candidates (General /SC/ST/SEBC) – 33 years (She should not have born before 30th Jul 1985)
  • For PwD Candidates – 38 years (She should not have born before 30th Jul 1980)

 

Admission Criteria & Selection

  • Selection of the candidate will be made on the basis of career mark from HSC/10th onwards as per NCTE norms. In case of tie, the higher percentage of marks at the Graduation level/Master’s level shall be taken into consideration
  • If the marks at Graduation /Master’s level become tie, who is born earlier will be considered first in merit

Reservation of Seats

  • The percentage of reservation of seats in each category (Arts and Science) shall be as per the Govt. of Odisha notification
  • Total seats in each category shall be distributed between Arts and Science discipline on 50:50 basis. Out of 50% of Science seats, there will be 25% of reservation in both PCM and Other Science subject
  • The students having Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (200 marks each) subjects at the Graduation level shall only be considered eligible for PCM Category
  • Out of the 50% seats for Arts Candidates, reservation of seats shall be made for students having English Honours and Odia Honours at Graduation level @ 7.5% each. Rest 85% seats in Arts shall be for other Arts Subjects

 

Application Procedure

  • The Admission Brochure and Application Form are available in the University Website from date 30th July 2018. The candidates are required to download application form from the Website www.rdwuniversity.nic.in
  • The application form duly filled in should reach “The Chairperson P.G. Council, Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha-751022, Odisha latest by 20th August 2018, 05.00 PM by Speed Post/Registered Post
  • The University shall not be held responsible for any kind of postal delay. Application form incomplete in any respect or received after the last date shall be rejected. The cover envelop of the application form must be written as “APPLICATION FOR THE ADMISSION INTO B.ED. COURSE (SELF-FINANCING)”, Category: Arts or Science Category” on the top of the A4 size envelop

Fee Details

  • Admission Fee and Other Charges – Rs.3119/-
  • Course Fee for B.Ed. Arts Category – Rs.40,000/- per year (1st year)
  • Course Fee for B.Ed. Science Category – Rs.45,000/- per year (1st year)
  • At the time of admission, the candidate has to submit two separate Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of Comptroller of Finance, Rama Devi Women’s University payable at Bhubaneswar
