RRVC Master of Visual Arts 2018

Raja Ravi Varma Centre Master of Visual Arts 2018-Applications have been invited for admission to the Master of Visual Arts in Painting and Master of Visual Arts in Art History offered at the Raja Ravi Varma Centre of Excellence for Visual Arts, Mavelikkara for the year 2018-19

Important Dates

  • Last Date for receipt of Completed Applications is 18th August 2018
  • Interview will be on 10th August 2018
  • Classes will commence on 20th August 2018
  • The Entrance Exam will be on 03rd September 2018

Duration

  • For admission to Master of Visual Arts in Art History of 2 years duration, applicant should have a Second class Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from a recognized University

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Those having a Second class Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities with proven aptitude in Fine Arts and its theoretical studies can also apply. However, those holding degree in subjects other than Fine Arts will have to attend a Bridge Course of one-year duration spread into two semesters
  • Those who successfully complete the Bridge Course will be admitted to two years Masters Program in Visual Arts in Art History. So, the course duration for such students would be 3 years
  • For admission to the Master of Visual Arts in Painting, of 2 years duration, applicant should hold a Second class Bachelor’s Degree in Painting with not less than 55% of marks
  • For SC/ST Candidates, a minimum pass in the qualifying Examination is required

Seats Available

  • For each course, there are 7 seats. Of this, 4 seats reserved for domicile candidates and 3 seats for candidates from outside the State
  • However, in the absence of candidates from outside the state, these seats will be allotted to general category

Reservation

  • Reservation and relaxation in percentage of marks will be as per the University rules

 

Selection Process

  • Admission will be made on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination, entrance test and performance in the interview. Only those Candidates who score minimum 40% mark in the entrance test will be called for interview
  • The final merit list will be based on the marks in the Qualifying Examination (20%weightage), Written Test (60%) and Interview (20%)

 

Application Process

  • Applications is available in the Examination Website of the Kerala Universitywww.exams.keralauniversity.ac.in
  • Fee for Entrance Examination is Rs.500/- to be remitted at Kerala University Cash Counter/Friends or as Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Kerala. For applying to two programs a total of R.550/- has to be remitted. For payment made by way of Demand Draft, an additional amount of Rs 10/- has to be added to the fee to be paid
  • The filled in application should reach ‘The Principal, Raja Ravi Varma Centre of Excellence for Visual Arts, Mavelikkara-690101’ along with the prescribed fees and copies of relevant documents, latest by 18th August 2018
