Eligibility Criteria

Age

 

  • The applicant must not be more than 21 years of age as on December 31, 2018 for UG programs. The date of birth printed on the Class X mark sheet issued by CBSE or equivalent board shall be considered for determining the age of the candidate. In case of student(s) who may have passed their equivalent examination from an overseas board, the age mentioned on his/her passport shall be considered

 

  • For PG program, there is no age limit

 
Educational Qualification

For B.Tech / B.Sc (Math / Physics):

  • 10+2 (English Medium) examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized board in Science stream with an overall aggregate of minimum 60% in 10th and 12th
  • The applicant should have secured not less than 50% marks in Maths in 12th

For M.Tech / M.Sc (Mathematics):

  • Applicant must have obtained minimum 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA in relevant equivalent qualifying degree. Minimum 60% aggregate in 10th and 12th is compulsory

For BBA / BA Economics / B.Com (Hons.):

  • Minimum 60% in 10+2 best of four. Marks in English to be included in best of four. Minimum 50% marks in Mathematics/Accountancy for B.Com (Hons.)
  • Minimum 50% marks in Mathematics/ Economics for BA Economics. Marks of Physical Education NOT to be included in computing Best of Four. Minimum 60% aggregate in 10th is also compulsory

For MBA:

  • Minimum 50% in Bachelors Degree. Minimum 50%ile score in CAT/CMAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT (September 2017 – May 2018 only). Minimum 60% aggregate in 10th and 12th is compulsory

For BBA LLB:

  • Minimum 60% Marks in Aggregate (10+2) and Minimum 50 Marks in English
  • Applicant must have written CLAT 2018/ AILET 2018/ LSAT 2018. Minimum 60% aggregate in 10th is also compulsory

For LLM:

  • Must have passed LL.B degree awarded by any University recognized by UGC and BCI. Minimum 60% aggregate in 10th and 12th is compulsory

For P.hD in Science, Technology, Management, Law & English:

Science, Technology:

  • A candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. Program under School of Engineering and Technology (SOET) of NCU must have obtained M.Tech. /M.Phil. /M.A. (English) degree with min. 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent. OR
  • M.Sc./ M.A (Maths) degree with min. 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent, with NET/GATE/JRF qualified or M.Sc./ M.A (Maths) with min. 67.5% marks in aggregate or equivalent. OR
  • B.Tech. degree from IITs with min. 67.5% marks in aggregate or equivalent.

Management:

  • A candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. Program under School of Management (SOM) of NCU must have obtained Post – graduation in any branch of Engineering, Management, Economics, Commerce, Operations Research or other relevant disciplines subject to approval of Dean, School of Management with min. 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent

Law:

  • A candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. Program under School of Law (SOL) of NCU must have obtained Master’s Degree in Law from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks or its equivalent. OR
  • Master’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks or its equivalent; provided that candidates with qualifications in social sciences, humanities and sciences may be admitted to the Program if the research they wish to pursue interfaces with the discipline of law with a special focus on Public Policy or Law. OR
  • Judge of any State High Court in India with three years’ experience or Judge of Supreme Court of India

 
Selection Procedure

For B.tech:

  • 60% weightage will be given to JEE 2018 Main (Paper – I) and 40% weightage will be given to the aggregate marks in English, Maths, Physics and Chemistry secured in 10+2 or equivalent

For B.Sc (Mathe / Physics) and MSc Maths:

  • On merit as per eligibility criteria

For M.Tech:

  • 30% of the seats are reserved for GATE qualified applicants. For balance 70% seats, the selection criteria shall be based on merit as follows: 85% weightage will be given to marks in the qualifying examination at the UG level, and 15% weightage to the personal interview. Any unfilled seats from GATE applicants shall also be treated as unreserved

For BBA / BA Economics / B.Com (Hons.)

Minimum 50% composite Merit score:-

  • 10th score – 30%
  • 12th score – 50%
  • Personal Interview – 10%
  • Essay Writing – 10%

For MBA:

Minimum 50% ‘Composite Merit Score’. ‘Composite Merit Score’ to be computed as follows:

  • Academics (25%)
  • 10th (X) – 5%
  • 12th (XII)- 5%
  • Bachelors: 15%
  • CAT/XAT/CMAT/ATMA/MAT/GMAT – 45%
  • Personal Interview/GDPI – 20%
  • Essay – 10%

For BBA LLB:

  • CLAT/AILET/LSAT 2018 (60%)
  • 10+2 (40%)

For LLM:

  • On merit as per eligibility criteria

For P.hD:

Admission for Ph.D. Program will be done twice every year, normally during June and December

(ii) The applications will be scrutinized by the SDRC concerned. The SDRC will call an adequate number of eligible candidates for a written entrance test “NPET” (“NorthCap Ph.D. Entrance Test”). The selection will be done on the basis of: NPET marks, qualifying degree marks and interviews. The weightage of each component will be decided by each school before advertising for Ph. D. Program

  • The candidates, who do not have valid score in national tests like UGC / CSIR (JRF) examination / NET/SLET / GATE/ teacher fellowship holder or have not passed the M. Phil degree, will have to appear in Entrance NPET (Northcap Ph. D. Entrance Test)
  • The weight age of various components for admission will be NPET marks – 40%, qualifying degree marks – 40% and interview – 20%
  • The candidates, who have valid score in the above national tests or have passed M. Phil degree, will have the following weightage for admission: M. Phil / National level test score – 40%, Qualifying degree marks – 40% and interview – 20%. In case no score is given in any national test, the concerned School will decide the weightages as applicable
  • The candidates whose selection is approved by the Dean (Academics) and Chairman BDR / VC will be admitted to the Ph D Program after payment of prescribed fees. The annual fee is same for full – time and part – time candidate

Application

Candidates can fill the application form in two modes either in online or in offline mode. Candidates must ensure their eligibility before filling the application form

(a) Online on University website www.ncuindia.edu

  • Students can fill in the form online and pay the Application fee of Rs. 1000/- (Non refundable) online, and upload self-attested scanned copies of documents mentioned in the admission brochure. They will receive an email confirmation for their online application

(b) Offline Application Forms:-

  • Application forms downloaded from the University website should be filled and submitted by hand or by post and enclosing a bank draft of Rs. 1000/- application fee (Non refundable) in favour of The NorthCap University, Gurugram at the University Campus along with the documents mentioned in the admission brochure
