National Institute of Technology, Durgapur invites applications for the Master of Social Work (MSW) course under the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences from the next academic year 2017-18
It will provide multiple perspectives to analyse and engage with social issues. The Programme will enable students to locate the role of a social worker as a professional specialisation within this context
The programme will also enable students to understand and engage with disadvantaged communities and develop new strategies to serve their interests
It will help students to understand local contexts and work with local communities
Master of Social Work (MSW) (Two-Year Full Time Degree Program)
Intake Capacity: 15 Reservation: As per Govt. of India Norms
Tuition Fee: As per institute norms (like M.Sc. Programs)
Graduate in any Discipline or its equivalent from recognized university /Institute with at least 55% of marks and 60% in class 10 and 10+2 level from any recognized board/university
Those who are appearing their final exam may also apply subject to fulfilling the minimum marks requirement
NIT Durgapur MSW Admission Procedures
Written Test (70) followed by Personal Interview (30), Total of 100 Marks
i. Components of Written Test (70 Marks):
ii. Essay Writing on Contemporary Issues (30 Marks)
iii. Test of Reasoning (MCQ Type, 20 Marks)
iv. General Awareness on Society, Economics and Political Issues (MCQ Type, 20 Marks)

Application in prescribed format must reach the undersigned on or before 31st May 2017; the envelope containing application with supporting documents should be superscripted by “APPLICATION FOR MSW PROGRAM 2017-18”
