Indian Institute of Plantation Management, Bangalore, announces Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) admission 2014.
In India, it is essentially needed to increase income of stakeholders of agriculture and horticulture industry and has to reduce wastage. In order to achieve the same, it is necessary to train the farmers and prospective entrepreneurs/unemployed youth through EDPs in an intensive manner so as to sensitize them to the idea of value addition, food processing and encourage them to establish food processing industry
a) Imparting knowledge in value addition and processing of Agri-horticulture produce
b) Information about supporting organization including financial institutions Management of resources viz. men, materials and money
c) Rules/Regulations of Local bodies related to food processing industry
d) Food Laws – FSSAI, BIS, AGMARK etc.
e) Training on Book keeping, Accounts, Costing and Pricing of products
f) Factory visits, meetings with food processing industry experts and entrepreneurs
g) Real time study on processed food market, market feasibility and marketing strategies
h) Motivational and soft skills training for entrepreneurs
i) Various government schemes and financial assistance available for food processing industry.
j) Project evaluation and report writing
k) Presentations and case study discussions
For whom: Young growers, prospective entrepreneurs/ agripreneurs and rural youths who are interested in food processing industry from Bangalore Rural and Ramnagara districts in Karnataka state.
Minimum qualification: 10 +2 (School level). The candidates with higher qualifications may be given preference.
The batch size shall be limited to 20 participants on first come first serve basis
Program is delivered through case based learning, class discussions, seminars, simulated assignments, real life business situations, industry focused field projects etc
1st Week – Theoretical foundation & experiential learning
2nd Week – Hands on training at industry premises
3rd Week – Real time field study
4th Week – Project presentations & Discussions
