Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT), Thanjavur announces PhD Biotechnology 2017

Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT), Thanjavur invites application for admissions to Full time PhD Biotechnology Program for the January 2018 session on the research area of Food Biotechnology

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should have M.Sc. /M.Tech in any of the following discipline like Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Chemistry/Microbiology/Agriculture/Agricultural Biotechnology/Plant Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Nutrition Biology/Biological Science/Food Science/Food Technology/Food Science & Nutrition/Food Science & Technology/Food Process Engineering/Chemical Engineering
The Candidates who have qualified for M.Sc. /M.Tech from any recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 5.51 out of 10.00 or 55% aggregate alone is eligible to apply PhD (Biotechnology) Program
However, the SC/ST candidates are eligible for 5 % exemption from the prescribed minimum marks
Selection Criteria
The selection is based on both written test and interview


Applicants are requested to read the instructions carefully for filling online application form
Students can apply only through online submission; printed application forms are not issued
Please ensure the information’s filled in the application form are correct, before submitting the form; Applicant should give the correct Email ID and Mobile Number (Compulsory)
The copy of filled-in submitted application form will be generated in .pdf format. Once the applicant is successfully registered, the Registration Number will be allotted for the submitted application form
Applicant can print the generated form (PDF) and send along with the self-attested photocopies of the certificates as mentioned in last page of the generated form (check list); once the application is submitted, it cannot be edited again. If any discrepancies, found during official verification, the application may be subjected to rejection
Use application registration number for all further future references and correspondences
Other General Instructions
Application Fee is Rs.600/- for General/OBC-NCL and Rs.300/- for SC/ST/PWD Candidates. Payment should be made by Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking only
Hard copies of the printed application form along with the necessary documents (10th Marksheet, JEE Admit Card-2017 & Community Certificate – As per prescribed format) with payment details should be sent on or before 17th November 2017, to the address mentioned below. The envelope should be mentioned with superscript as B. Tech (Food Process Engineering) 2017-18
