Dr YSR NITHM Hyderabad BSc Admission 2013 – B.Sc (Hospitality and Hotel Administration)

Admission Notice 2013-14

B.Sc (Hospitality and Hotel Administration) for the Academic year 2013-14 in association with National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology

Duration: 3-year and full-time regular course

The Bachelor of Science program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered jointly by the National Council for Hotel Management and the Indira Gandhi National Open University

The Three-Year (6-semesters) full time regular course equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector


Qualifying examination: A pass in 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects

Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination

Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE 2013 on provisional basis

Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counseling or at the time of admission or latest by 30th September, 2013

The offer of admission is subject to verification of original certificates/documents at the time of admission

If any candidate is found ineligible at a later date even after admission to an Institute, his/her admission will stand cancelled

Qualifying Exams for Indian students:

Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education

Intermediate or two-year Pre-University exam conducted by a recognized Board/University

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level

High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University

Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in a foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education

H.S.C. Vocational Examination

Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects

Age limit:

For candidates from General and OBC categories, upper age limit is 22 years as on 01st July, 2013

In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, upper age limit is 25 years as on 01st July, 2013

That is SC/ST candidates born on or after 01st July, 1988 are eligible

Upper age limit for Physically Challenged candidates shall be reckoned as per the category he/she belongs to i.e. General/SC/ST/OBC

Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/Pre-University Certificate shall be the authentic proof that will be accepted

Reservation of seats:

As per Government of India rules candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them

Benefit of reservation shall be given only to those classes/castes/tribes which are in the respective Central List published by the Govt of India

Reservation for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe:

For the SC and ST categories, 15% and 7.5% seats, respectively, are reserved in Central and State Govt Institutes of Hotel Management

Candidates belonging to SC / ST categories will be required to produce the original caste/tribe certificate issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format during admission

Certificates in any other format will not be accepted. Seats remaining vacant in these categories shall not be filled by candidates belonging to any other category

OBC Candidates: 27% seats are reserved for candidates belonging to OBC (non-creamy layer) category in Central Institutes of Hotel Management

Those belong to the creamy layer of OBC are NOT entitled for reservation

Seats remaining vacant in this category shall be filled through General Category candidates, as per Hon’ble Supreme Court ruling


NITHM is under the jurisdiction of the Govt institutes and therefore the fees is applicable as per NCHMCT prescribed norms

Selection of Candidates:

Selection of the eligible candidates is strictly based on marks obtained in 10+2 or equivalent examination only

Process for Registration:

The candidates are advised to go through the Admission Brochure carefully and acquaint themselves with all requirements in respect to filling up of the Application Forms for JEE-2013

It will be the sole responsibility of the candidate to make sure that he/she is eligible and fulfils all the conditions prescribed for admission

If ineligibility of a candidate is detected at any stage before or after examination/declaration of result or during any stage of the programme, his/her candidature/admission will be cancelled without any notice, disciplinary action will be taken against him/her and entire fee will also be forfeited

The candidate must fill the application form in his/her own handwriting, clearly, legibly and in block letters

The Application Form should be filled in English only

Incomplete Application Form will be summarily rejected and no request will be entertained in this regard

First, write in capital letters the required information with a Black Ball Point Pen in the boxes (wherever provided) and then darken with HB pencil, the appropriate ovals (indicating the relevant alphabet/numeral) underneath each letter

What you write in the boxes is only for your guidance and for verification that you are darkening the correct alphabet/numeral in ovals

Candidate should write his/her name in CAPITAL LETTERS (IN ENGLISH) as given in Class X or equivalent certificate

Write a single letter in a box

Do not leave any blank box within any word of your name

Leave only one blank box between consecutive words of your name; if your name has several initials, leave one blank after each of them

Name of Father/Mother: Write the name of your Father or Mother exactly as in your Class X or equivalent certificate. Leave one and only one blank box between consecutives words of your father’s/mother’s name

Date of birth: Enter the date, month and year of your birth as per English Calendar and as recorded in your School/Board (Class-X) Pre-University examination certificate

Use numerals 01 to 31 for Date, 01 to 12 for Month and four digits for year of birth

For example, if born on 16th August, 1990, the date should be entered as follows: 16th August, 1990

Darken the appropriate ovals for date, month and year in each column

Nationality: If your nationality is Indian, darken the oval indicated for “INDIAN”

If your nationality is not Indian; darken the oval indicated for “OTHERS”

Mailing Address: Write your name and complete mailing address IN CAPITAL LETTERS including the PIN CODE along with Telephone/ Mobile numbers with relevant STD Code at which the communication is to be sent

Photograph of the candidate: The candidate should affix his/her recent colour photograph with white background (without attestation) taken on or after 1st January 2013

The photograph should be pasted (NOTSTAPLED) in the space marked for it

Centre of Test: Refer to the list of Centres of Joint Entrance Examination 2013

Fill in the code from where candidate wishes to appear for Joint Entrance Examination

Verification and Countersignatures: While filing up of the application form, the candidate must verify the correctness of all the particulars furnished by him/her by putting his/her signature at the appropriate spaces provided for the purpose in the application form; signature is also required to be put within the box provided; the candidate must also get his/her application form countersigned by the parent/guardian

Relationship of the person countersigning the application form with the candidate should also be specified in the box meant for the purpose

In case any candidate is found to have furnished false information or is found to have concealed any material information in his/her application, he/she will be debarred from admission

Be careful while handling of application form:

There should be no over-writing;

Do not write or mark on the BARCODES

Refold the application form only where it was originally folded. Do not put any pin or staple and paste the photograph only with Fevistick/Gumstick

Do not scribble, smudge, cut, tear or wrinkle the application form. Do not put any stray pencil/pen marks anywhere on the application form

The candidate will be solely responsible for all the consequences arising out of any error or omission in the Application Form

No request for change/correction/modification in the particulars of Application Form will be entertained

Download the application from website and forward the filled in applications by enclosing 10th and 10+2 marksheet on or before 22nd July, 2013
