Bennett University has released notification for the eligible candidates for admission into various Undergraduate and Post Graduate Programmes in the following fields for the academic year 2017-18

Those who fill the eligibility criteria or requirement as per university norms are eligible to apply

Eligibility Criteria (all Programmes)

For B Tech (4 Years) [Civil, CSE, ECE, EP, MECH] & B.Tech (NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign National Category) Programmes:

Min 5 Subjects in 10+2 or its equivalent exam (equivalence as defined by JEE Board). Candidates with 4 subjects in 10+2 class are not eligible

Candidate must obtain minimum of 60% aggregate marks in three subjects to include Physics, and Mathematics (Compulsory) and one subject amongst Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Informatics Practices and Multimedia and Web Technology. The marks shall be verified at the time of document inspection

Minimum academic qualification for admission to any one of the programs is as laid down by JEE (Board). The 10+2 or its equivalent Exam must be passed in 2015, 2016 or 2017. All candidates who are offered provisional admission during counselling will be required to produce proof of having passed the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) to the University authorities during document inspection at the time of registration, failing which, such provisional admission will stand cancelled. If the results of 10+2 examinations are likely to be declared after 15th July 2017 the candidates are advised to seek admission next year

Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 01st Oct 1996 (Date of Birth as recorded in the High School/Sr. Education Board/University Certificate only will be taken as authentic) are only eligible to apply

Shortlisting / Selection Process:

The merit, amongst applications received for admission, shall be drawn based on the actual marks obtained by the candidate in the JEE (Main) 2017 paper 1 Exam. JEE marks in any category or state including general etc. shall not be taken into account

The merit list for SC/ST candidates and those belonging to the state of J&K shall be made by applying the cut off 10% below the total marks {in JEE (main) exam} obtained by the candidate short listed in the general category

Submission of application does not automatically qualify the candidate for participating in further selection and no refund of application fee is permissible on any account

For Biotech Programmes (4 Years):

Min 5 Subjects in 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics and Biology/Biotechnology, as compulsory subjects. Candidates with 4 subjects in 10+2 class are not eligible

For B Tech in Biotechnology, candidate must obtain minimum of 60% aggregate marks in three subjects to include Physics, and Biology/Biotechnology (Compulsory) and one subject amongst Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Informatics Practices and Multimedia and Web Technology

The minimum academic qualification for admission shall be 10+2 or its equivalent Exam. The same must be passed in 2015, 2016 or 2017. All candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce proof of having passed the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) to the University authorities during document inspection at the time of registration, failingwhich, such provisional admission will stand cancelled. If the results of 10+2 exams are likely to be declared after 15th July 2017, the candidates are advised to seek admission next year

Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 01st Oct 1996 (Date of Birth as recorded in the High School/Secondary Education Board/University Certificate only will be taken as authentic) are only eligible to apply

Candidates must produce certificate of proof of the above conditions at the time of counseling failing which, they will be disqualified

Shortlisting / Selection Process:

The merit amongst applications received shall be drawn based on the marks scored by the candidate in 10+2 examination

The scores shall be counted in Best of three subjects (Physics and Biology/Biotechnology being compulsory). The third subject one amongst Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Informatics Practices and Multimedia and Web Technology

The merit list for SC/ST candidates and those belonging to the state of J&K shall be made by applying the cut off 10% below the merited marks in 10+2 Examination obtained by the candidate short listed in the general category

Merit list shall be loaded on the websites for all candidates whose applications are found valid. It is responsibility of the candidate to check the web site for merit lists. Ignorance shall not be accepted as an excuse

The candidates who qualify for the admission based on Merit shall be issued Provisional admission offer letters, subject to their paying the required fee and document verification.

For BBA (3 Year) Programme:

The candidate must obtain minimum of 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination in any discipline. Mathematics and English shall be treated as a compulsory subject. In addition, only the subjects as listed shall be counted towards merit

The 10+2 exam must be passed in 2015, 2016 or 2017. Those appearing in 10+2 Exam in 2017 must produce the original copies of results latest by 30 September 2017. All candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce proof of having passed the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) to the University authorities during document inspection at the time of registration, failing which, such provisional admission will stand cancelled. If the results of 10+2 examinations are likely to be declared after 15, July, 2017, the candidates are advised to seek admission next year. No representations for extension of dates shall be entertained

Students are required to submit their “Statement of Purpose” along with their Application Form.

The candidate must obtain minimum of 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination in any discipline

The 10+2 examination must be passed in 2015, 2016 or 2017. Those appearing in 10+2 Examination in 2017 must produce the original copies of the results latest by 30 September 2017. All candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce proof of having passed the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) to the University authorities during document inspection at the time of registration, failing which, such provisional admission will stand cancelled. If the results of 10+2 examinations are likely to be declared after 15th July 2017, the candidates are advised to seek admission next year

No representations for extension of dates shall be entertained.

Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October, 1996 (Date of Birth as recorded in the High School/Secondary Education Board/University Certificate only will be taken as authentic) are only eligible to apply for admission

Candidates must produce certificate of proof of the above conditions at the time of counseling failing which, they will be disqualified

Shortlisting / Selection Process:

The merit amongst applications received shall be drawn based on the All India Rank (AIR)of the candidate in CLAT examination. Rank in any category shall not be taken into consideration.

The merit list for SC/ST candidates and those belonging to the state of J&K shall be made by applying the cut off 10% below the merited marks in CLAT exam obtained by the candidate short listed in the unreserved category

Merit list shall be loaded on the websites for all candidates whose applications are found valid. It is responsibility of the candidate to check the web site for merit lists.In addition the candidates shall also be informed through emails. Ignorance shall not be accepted as an excuse

For MBA (2 Year) Programme:

Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a statutory university with at least 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates graduating in 2017, can also apply but must prove their eligibility latest by 30 October 2017. Further, they must ensure that their last paper of final year’s graduation examination finishes before 15 July, 2017. Those not producing the eligibility certificates as per the date mentioned will be disqualified/de-registered irrespective of them having joined the program provisionally.

Applicants seeking admission are required to have qualified in CAT/GMAT/XAT/GRE with validity up to July 2017and beyond

Shortlisting / Selection Process:

Following factors would generally be considered for shortlisting and inviting candidates for the personal Interview (PI):

Score/percentile in CAT/GMAT/XAT/GRE

Consistency and strong past academic record

Score/pe Relevant work experience (if any) that brings value to the classroom learning

Extra-curricular achievements reflecting leadership qualities, contribution to society and a well-rounded personality.

Only candidates short-listed on the basis of relative merit amongst received applications will be called for a PI, which may be held in Greater Noida/Delhi/Chandigarh/Lucknow/Patna/Jaipur /Mumbai/Bengaluru/Hyderabad (subject to adequate number of applications from the region)

For M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) Programme:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after B.Sc./Diploma in Engineering/ Technology) or its equivalent in Computer Science/Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Information Technology from a statutory university with at least 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.

B.E./B.Tech. equivalent exams of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India) in Computer Science/Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Information Technology.

Applicants seeking admission are required to have qualified in GATE in Computer Science and Information Technology (CS) with validity up to July 2017 and beyond.

Shortlisting / Selection Process:

Admission to M Tech-CSE shall be carried out through merit drawn amongst received applications on valid GATE score.Candidates below the minimum cut off GATE score, as may be decided by the admission committee, shall not be admitted, irrespective of availability of vacancy

Merely filling an application form does not entitle the candidate for the admission. The admission is purely merit based. No refund of application fee is entitled, in case candidate fails to qualify in the merit list/meet the minimum cut off of GATE score laid down by the admission committee of the University

For PhD Programme:

M.Tech Degree of a University or equivalent for Ph.D. in Engineering / Technology in respective branch with 60% aggregate marks or CGPA not less than 6.5 on scale of 10

Master’s Degree/M Phil from a University for Ph.D. in Sciences in respective discipline or equivalent with 60% Aggregate marks or CGPA not less than 6.5 on scale of 10

Consistently good academic record / performance with 1st division all through; i.e. 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of not less than 6.5 on a scale of 10 at undergraduate level for students admitted after PG programs at (i) to (ii) above

All candidates desirous of joining programs in Engineering should have appeared and have a valid GATE score or qualified in UGC- NET (Including JRF)/SLET/CSIR NET (Including JRF) / Teacher fellow ship holder or equivalent national level exams or are in receipt of fellowships like DST/DBT/DAE/CSIR/QIP/ICMR/DRDO/INSPIRE etc

Shortlisting / Selection Process:

Candidates satisfying the requirements of minimum qualifications as specified in Eligibility Criteria. For Engineering and Technology programs, eligibility includes the terms as in Eligibility Criteria above. Thus, such candidates shall be exempt from the written entrance test

For Programs in Science, the candidates without M Phil shall be required to take a written entrance test to be conducted by the University. Only shortlisted candidates shall thereafter be called for an Interview

The syllabus and pattern of examination for the written test as per UGC/CSIR/GATE syllabus relevant to the student’s discipline. Those having M Phil may be shortlisted for direct interview for programs in Sciences

The final selection shall be based on the performance in interview, to be conducted for the shortlisted candidates, in all programs

How to Obtain and Fill the Application Form:

The students may obtain and fill the application forms in any of the following ways

(a) Obtain application form and brochure from the University office by cash payment of Rs 1000/- or sending a bank draft of Rs.1000/- favoring Bennett University, payable at Noida/Greater Noida

The form may also be downloaded from the University website www.bennett.edu.in

(b) Obtain application form and brochure from selected sale points, as per the details which shall be loaded on the web site of the University

(c) Apply on line using net banking/credit/debit card/opting to make payment through bank draft on web site www.getadmissions.com/bennett which can also be accessed through University website

Cost of Form: Rs 1000/-

The completed Application Form, whether purchased or print out of the online application must be sent to the following address Admission Section Bennett University Office, Plot No’s 8-11, Tech Zone II, Near Dabra Village, Greater Noida-201310 (Uttar Pradesh, India)

On successful completion of application form and online payment, the candidate shall be allotted a Unique Application ID number, which must be saved for future reference
