University of Calcutta (CU), Kolkata, invites applications for admission into its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program in Sanskrit at Department for the academic year 2013

Selection Procedure:

The selection of candidates is done based on the written test and interview conducted by the university

Those candidates who have already passed UGC/JRF, examination NET/SET or equivalent or passed M.Phil need not appear for the admission test but shall have to appear in the interview

The eligible candidates shall have to appear for a written test of 70 marks to be held on 27th November, 2013

No. of Seats: 15 (For five years) (Reservation policy will be followed as per rules)

The allocation of supervisor will be made on the basis of interview and the choice of the candidates for concerned academic field of research

The Syllabus of Exam: Paragraph writing (in English or in Sanskrit, minimum 500 words); Short questions (in English or in Sanskrit); Comprehension (in Sanskrit); Viva Voce

Application Form:

Candidates who wish to pursue Ph.D research work in this Department should apply in the prescribed proforma (to be downloaded from the university website) by paying Rs. 100/- through a challan obtainable from college street campus (cash counter)
