Advanced Software Development Methodologies (DASDM) Course 2013

The Diploma in Advanced Software Development Methodologies (DASDM) course is targeted towards students who wish to venture into the domain of computing. The DASDM course aims to groom the students to enable them to work on current technology scenarios as well as prepare them to keep pace with the changing face of technology and the requirements of the growing IT industry.

After the completion of the course, students can work as developer/ programmer/System Analyst in IT industry and associated service sectors.

Course Duration:

The DASDM course is of one year duration with the course syllabus being distributed in four trimesters (3 months duration each).

Eligibility:

Minimum eligibility criteria to appear for admission to DASDM course is as follows:

Graduates in Science and Engineering (e.g. BCA / B.Sc., Engg, B.Sc. (Computer Science, IT and Electronics etc)

Graduates in Math or allied areas (e.g. Statistics, Applied Math)

Graduates in Physics or Computational Sciences / Graduates in Computing

The candidates must have secured a minimum of aggregate 50% marks in their examination.

Course Pre-requisites:

Sound knowledge of Computing Fundamentals and Fundamentals of Programming is essential. Candidates who have appeared for the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2013 will also be considered for admission to the above courses.

By qualifying in C-DAC’s Common Entrance Test (CET) of August 2013, these candidates can apply for provisional admission subject to the condition that: (a) All parts of their qualifying degree examination shall be completed by the date of joining the course, and (b) Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with at least the required minimum marks shall be submitted at C-DAC by 30 Nov. 2013.

Course Fee:

The total course fees of DASDM course is Rs. 80,000/- plus taxes extra as applicable by Government of India.

The admission to the DASDM course is through a Common Entrance Test (CET) which shall be conducted twice for a batch.

The syllabus of the CET comprises of the following:

Computing Awareness (40 questions)

Evolutions of computers, Computer generations, Computer organization, Primary and Secondary storage, Input-output devices, Computer software, Operating systems, Data communications and computer networking, Multimedia, Classification of computers, Algorithms, Flow charts, Fundamentals of Programming, Utility Software, Computer Security, etc.

Functional English (20 questions)

Mathematical Aptitude (20 questions)

Reasoning (20 questions)

Last Date of Online Registration & Application, and Payment of Application Fee CET: 20th August, 2013

Downloading Admit Cards CET: 22nd August, 2013

Common Entrance Test (CET) I: 24th August, 2013

Announcement of Result: 2nd September, 2013

Last date of payment of Admission Fees (Rs. 11,236) and Tuition Fees (Rs. 22,472) total of Rs 33,708/- in form of DD: 16th September, 2013

Certificate verification: 17th September, 2013

Second selection list: 20th September 2013
